Boiled, distilled water isn’t recommended, either – there’s no way to be certain if you’ve killed all the bacteria in the water.

Don’t try saline solution on its own, either. Saline solution has no cleaning properties and leaving your contacts in saline can breed bacteria and lead to dangerous eye infections. If you’re out of contact solution, don’t DIY at all – only the right product will protect your eye health!
